I help horse owners understand their horse’s body language, stress responses, and communication so they can build trust, create calm, and develop a more respectful partnership.
Horses have been my greatest teachers. From the quiet awe I felt watching them as a child, to the lessons of presence and responsibility I learned from my first mare, Dreams Come True. They have shaped not only how I work, but also how I live.
Like many owners, I once searched for the “right method.” I studied natural horsemanship, liberty work, affirmative training, and horse-assisted coaching. Each offered valuable pieces. But it wasn’t until I began listening more closely to subtle body language, to calming and stress signals, and to the nervous systems of both horse and human, that something truly shifted.
I realised that most challenges aren’t a lack of effort or love.
They’re a lack of clear understanding.
That realisation became the foundation of Herd Essence.
Today, I work with thoughtful horse owners who want more than techniques or quick fixes. People who feel something is off, but can’t quite explain why. Together, we slow things down, observe more clearly, and respond in ways that build safety rather than pressure.
My approach blends over two decades of experience with trauma-informed principles and nervous system awareness. I hold certifications in Coaching with Horses and Systemic Horse-Assisted Coaching, and I am currently completing my studies in Horse-Human Trauma Recovery at Equusoma. With a background in Veterinary Naturopathy, I bring both practical knowledge and a holistic perspective to every session.
What matters most to me is creating a space where both you and your horse can feel safe, understood, and supported. Because when understanding grows, calm follows. And from there, trust becomes something that develops naturally, and not something you have to chase.

I live with my herd of five horses and Jakob the donkey in the Natural Park of South Western Portugal, near the Atlantic Ocean.
Our herd includes Gemma and her two offspring, Peaches and Zorro, who once shared their pasture with my first mare, Dreams Come True.
In 2019, Jakob joined us, followed by a beautiful rescue mare named Lua and the birth of her filly, Jiya.
When Dreams passed away in 2021 at the age of 22, the herd shifted again, reminding me how sensitive horses are to change, and how much communication happens beyond words.
Living alongside them in a natural 60-hectare landscape continues to shape my understanding of herd dynamics, stress responses, attachment, and regulation - lessons that directly inform the work I share.
They remain my greatest teachers.
